The Week in Review

It was a rough week for birds who were brought to BMW. They were either badly injured with multiple broken bones, or starving.

For Golden Eagle 19-483, it was both. At 1.75 kg (less than 4 pounds), he was 50% underweight. An exam revealed healed fractures in the right metacarpals and left scapula. He may have been struck by a vehicle, although we don’t know for sure. What we do know is that he had been on the ground starving, likely for a month or more. We were unable to save him.
