Fall Brings Multiple Hunting Seasons to the West

There are hunting seasons for big game such as deer and elk, water fowl and upland game birds. Most other native birds, including raptors, are protected by both state and federal law. It was very sad to admit three gunshot hawks recently in a span of five days.

We are going to try again for a Facebook Live event. We will release a Red-tailed Hawk  who suffered a gunshot injury the end of June. I think Winnie has gotten me straightened out so you will be able to see the live event on BMW’s Facebook page. …

Join us on Facebook Live as two Western Screech Owls are released Wednesday evening. One owl hit a window, the other was likely hit by a car. Both were lucky to receive only minor injuries.

Eagle Country

The Eagle is Alive and Well!!!


Volunteers Tiffany and Bill, with amazing help from Able Garcia and Clayton Campbell, Umatilla National Forest Enforcement Officer and city of Walla Walla employee respectively, spent most of Tuesday searching for 20-001.  Getting permission to enter the Walla Walla Watershed was the first hurdle. …
