An Eventful Week at BMW

We had special company this past week. Ken and Kirsti Strandberg visited from Portland. Kirsti is BMW’s Treasurer and a very accomplished photographer. Ken is multi-talented as well, especially regarding technology and construction. He brought cameras to experiment with in the new display pens and helped

Last week we said goodbye to intern Tina and wished her well as she prepares to return to school at Yale. Tina worked very hard for more than two months caring for injured birds and feeding countless babies.

The last of the nestling hawks admitted the end of June during the unprecedented heat wave have been released. Of the 136 nestling hawks admitted, 82 Cooper’s Hawks and 21 Swainson’s Hawks were successfully released. The Cooper’s Hawks were released from BMW’s Tri-Cities center. …

The Week in Review - Some Interesting/Challenging Cases

American Robin 21-593 was found in Richland, WA. The Robin acts like a normal baby Robin who is just starting to get the idea he can eat food on his own (especially blueberries!)  but he has deformed toes on both feet.
