Planning for Solar Power in the New Classroom

Discussing solar energy

Harvey Neuber, Carl Scheeler and I discuss options for solar power in the new classroom.

BMW’s Environmental Education Center Has Water!

Frost free spigot

Thank you to Carl Scheeler for installing the plumbing and frost-free spigots in the new aviaries. We can now coil up the multiple hoses needed to stretch from the existing water to the new building.

The Week in Review

There were just six new admissions this past week. Sadly, one was a gunshot Cooper’s Hawk with multiple fractures I’m both wings. There was too much damage to be repaired and the hawk was euthanized.

Gunshot COHA

We took some solace in being able to release three birds this week. Volunteer Lisa released a Barn Owl and Merlin near the Tri-Cities. Volunteers Bill and Tiffany released a Cooper’s Hawk that they had picked up last December in Waitsburg. Below is a photo Bill sent after the release.
